Take pet-waste removal, for instance. Start-ups with clever names such as Dr. Scoopy Poo, Entre-Manure LLC, Yucko’s, Grand Poobah and Call of Doodie are growing in number, according to a recent WSJ article. The reason, say industry observers, is that the U.S. pet dog population has more than tripled since 1960, while spending on goods and services for pets continues to set records.
